Reverend Paul Julius Pfadenhauer was born on June 27, 1934, in Queens, New York - and died January 18, 2024.
Paul’s life partner was artist Bill Sibberns, they enjoyed over 60 years together.
Paul was a lifeguard in his teenage years, but more importantly active in the Luther League, the official youth organization of the United Lutheran Church in America. It was during these early years Paul first heard the calling to ministry. Paul would pursue theological studies at Lutheran Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and was ordained in 1959. Paul would pastor in the NYC boroughs of Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens before relocating with Bill to Florida in 1994.
Reverend Paul continued to pastor in Florida at 1st Lutheran Church, St Francis & Clare and Hospice by the Sea, and in many other spiritual ways where he befriended many. Paul will be greatly missed by family and everyone who knew him. His laughter, his love, his kind heart, and his vibrant spirituality have left an undeniable mark on our lives and our hearts. We know that his spirit will live on in all the lives he touched.
