StCharlesPride1bstCharlesPride2 bMembers of the St. Charles of Brazil parish joined in this year's Baltimore's Annual Pride Parade.  This was the second year St. Charles of Brazil participated, increasing their presence from 3 marchers last year to 10 this year, wearing their CACINA blue T-shirts.  They walked as a member church of the "Faith Communities of Baltimore with Pride" or FCCBP, an organization of 42 churches of all denominations in the Baltimore metro area.  St. Charles of Brazil officially joined the organization in 2016. There were 300 walkers in all from this outstanding ecumenical organization!

Fr Morgan ThumbnailFather Morgan was ordained a priest in the Catholic Apostolic Church in North America (CACINA) on May 19, 2017.  The ordination was officiated by Bishop Ron Stephens, assisted by the bishops of CACINA.   Family, friends, and members of CACINA's clergy and laity were in attendance to witness the administration of the sacrament of Holy Orders when an indelible mark, a sacramental character, was placed on Fr. Morgan's soul.  Fr. Morgan is the pastor of Our Lady of Atonement Mission in Fort Charlotte, Florida.

Cross of St. FrancisSts. Francis and Clare parish in Fort Lauderdale, Florida has joined CACINA. This is an independent Catholic parish that has been serving the peoole of God for 12 years in South Florida.   One of their priests has had a connection to CACINA for many years.   The parish had been looking to be part of a national church and found a home in CACINA. We look forward to meeting members of the clergy and laity at the General Assembly in May.  You can visit their website at: Sts. Francis and Clare.

RayMorgan editedRay Morgan was ordained a deacon on September 24, 2016 at St. James Episcopal Church, Port Charlotte, Florida and will be working at CACINA's newest mission, the Our Lady of the Atonement, in Port Charlotte. The ordination was a truly ecumenical ceremony. Bishop Ron Stephens officiated with clergy, religious, and lay members of CACINA, as well as those from the Episcopal, Presbyterian, and Roman Catholic churches, participating.

Deacon Ray commented how moving it was when Bishop Ron laid hands on him, followed by Fathers Larry, Joe, Michael, Cesar, and Lee, Pastor Bill, Sue, (Ray's wife), and his sister, Sr. Catherine Patrice.   Afterward Deacon Ray remarked, “I could have sworn I felt the hands of Bishop Francisco and Fr. Dante laying hands [too]. This experience was so special and will remain with me forever.” The recessional hymn was Faith of Our Fathers, a fitting conclusion for remarkable ecumenical ordination.  CACINA is happy to welcome our newest deacon into the church. May God bless him and the new mission.
