PaulPfadenhauer TH

Father Paul Pfadenhauer is the newest priest to join the fellowship of the CACINA clergy at Saints Francis and Clare parish. Previously throughout his professional life, he was known as Pastor Paul. He was a Lutheran Pastor for 59 years until the Lord called him to a new ministry in CACINA. He was born in the German neighborhood of Ridgewood, Queens, NY. He attended public school in Cambria Heights, Queens, high school at Brooklyn Technical High School, college at Wittenberg University, Springfield, Ohio and divinity studies at Philadelphia Theological Seminary, Philadelphia, PA. He served at the following churches in New York, totaling 35 years of parish ministry: St. John's Lutheran Church, Merrick, NY, St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Williamsburgh, Brooklyn, NMY, Grace & Saint Paul's Church, Manhattan, NMY, and Trinity Lutheran Church Middle Village, NY. Fr. Paul relocated to South Florida in 1994 and served as a Chaplain/Spiritual Care Counselor at the Hospice of Martin & St. Lucie, Stuart, and Hospice by the Sea, Boca Raton. He also served in Florida as Interim-Pastor at First Lutheran Church, Fort Lauderdale, Christ the King Lutheran Church, Sunrise, and St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, Pompano Beach. During the years of parish and hospice ministries, Fr. Paul collected a few more degrees to add to his M.Div. from seminary. He earned a Masters in Professional Studies Gerontology from Southampton/LIU, Southampton, NY, a Certificate in Biblical Studies from Mansfield College, Oxford, UK, and an Advanced Certification in Psychotherapy from the Albert Ellis Institute, Manhattan, NY.

And now after joining CACINA, as Fr. Paul says, “Yes, you can teach an old dog new tricks.”—but he promises not to bark or bite!
